How to Care for Your Invisalign Retainers

Individuals who undergo Invisalign treatment have the convenience of being able to take out their retainers when they want to eat or brush their teeth. This typically allows patients to enjoy a more hygienic orthodontic experience, as they can easily clean their teeth and reduce the amount of food particle buildup on their retainers.

For the best possible Invisalign experience, dentists recommend a few retainer care guidelines. First, clean them on a daily basis. Even if you do not wear your retainers while eating, food remnants can gather in the interior crevices of your retainers and contribute to tooth decay. Second, store your retainers in a safe place. To avoid damage from heat or trauma, keep your retainers in a carrying case whenever they are not in your mouth.
